Darjeeling tea plantation tour
Darjeeling tea is famous all over the world for its high-quality tea.
Darjeeling is located in the eastern part of the Himalayas in the state of
West Bengal.
The birth of the tea
industry in Darjeeling can be traced back to 1856-57 when the British opened
tea gardens at places like Alubari, Pandam and Steinthal in the hill
district.
There are approximately 87
tea estates in this region. The annual production of tea from this region is
about 10 million Kg most of which is exported to other countries. Prices of
these teas normally range from Rs 500 ($11) per Kg to Rs 25,000 ($550) per
kg.
The landscape in this region
is extremely beautiful with lush green valleys and high mountains. The road
runs through some of the picturesque tea gardens with the view of workers
plucking tea leaves from the tea plants. It is a sight and an experience to
be savored for the rest of the life. Here, in the spacious tea factories,
you will be able to see how tea is blended and processed from green leaves
till it is packaged as a finished product.
We, at Summit to Sea, offer

tea gardens. We will make all the arrangements for your trip including all
