These three treks are all in the Garhwal Hills of Uttaranchal. At Madmaheshwar
(12200 ft), there are enchanting views of Choukhamba Peak. A major attraction is
the famous Valley of Flowers (12300 ft), which is a natural garden. The
Hemkund Lake at an altitude of 14500 ft is considered to be a very sacred place
by pilgrims. Both the treks to Hemkund and the Valley of Flowers originate from Govind Ghat and bifurcate at Ghangaria. One may choose to take a detour to visit the spectacular Vasudhara Falls at an altitude of 11800 ft.
A suitable time to trek on this route is between the middle of May to
June, and from September to the middle of November.
